Volunteering for MLX8
We couldn't run the Melbourne Lindy Exchange without the help of the many people who volunteer their time and skills over the MLX and in the weeks and months leading up to the weekend. Volunteering for such a large event is not only really useful for the organising team, it's also a way to develop skills. Interested in learning to set up sound gear? Handling ticket sales? Managing public relations? If you are, we'd certainly appreciate your help.
Even if you're only interested in doing a bit of tidying up over the weekend, volunteers have the opportunity to purchase a cheaper MLX8 pass.
Want more information about volunteering at MLX8? Email us at:
volunteer [at] mlx8 [dot] com or grab an MLX8 coordinator in person.
To simplify the registration process you register for passes and as a volunteer on the same form. If you do not wish to purchase a pass do not select any options in that section of the form.

MLX8 Sponsors and Friends
We've already had lots of help with MLX8 from many people all over Australia, doing all sorts of jobs, from promoting MLX8 in their classes and newsletters (both in Melbourne and interstate), allowing us to promote MLX8 at their classes and dances, producing our MLX8 logo (thanks Scott Fraser), photocopying material, donating materiels, sponsoring the Australian Hellzapoppin Prize (thanks so much to Swing Camp Oz), sponsoring MLX8 (thanks Swing Patrol and Gorgeous Gear), running 'special MLX events' (thanks to the Madame Dynamite's crew)...
There are too many things to name - but we appreciate them all!
If you're interested in helping out with official sponsorship, please do drop us a line at questions [at] mlx8 [dot] com - we appreciate the help!
MLX8 is truly the work of a vast team of people - local, interstate and international. We're very grateful for all the help they've given so far and are very proud to announce MLX8 as the eighth annual Melbourne Lindy Exchange, brought to you by the MJDA!
